Customer Spotlight: Fred and Alice’s Solar Journey
In 2015, Fred and Alice took their first step toward solar energy with the installation of a photovoltaic backup power system. Over time, as their energy needs grew and solar and battery technology advanced, they returned to Alternative Energy Southeast to expand and upgrade their system. Recently, they shared their reflections on this journey. Here’s their story:
October 14, 2024
“In 2015 we purchased our first solar photovoltaic system (which consisted of 30 250-watt Solar World solar panels plus a 7.0 kilowatt Outback Inverter backed up by a battery bank of 24 6-volt AGM Crowne batteries) plus complete installation from Alternative Energy Southeast. During the past couple of years, when we decided both to expand and upgrade our capacity for generating electricity from solar power, we returned to Alternative Energy Southeast, adding a second system (consisting of 16 405-watt Hyundai solar panels, a 15 kilowatt Sol-Ark Inverter and 12 and a battery bank of 12 48-volt EG 4 LiFePo4 batteries) and, ultimately, consolidating both PV systems into a single, harmoniously-functioning whole.
Although we have considered ourselves to be reasonably well-read and knowledgeable customers of solar power from the beginning, we have always understood that we are neither electricians nor electrical engineers. Consequently, from the beginning and continuing now, it has been vitally important to us that those from whom we purchase solar technology not only possess a thorough professional knowledge of that technology, but that they also have the temperament and interpersonal skills to make that technology understandable to the uninitiated novices as ourselves. What we have always needed was partners in our voyage of discovery into the mysteries of solar power, and NOT salespeople who are interested in being paid and moving on to the next customers.
The people of Alternative Energy Southeast have never failed to meet or exceed our needs in this regard. They have always been respectful, cordial, and polite, and extraordinarily patient in answering all our questions and, not only in listening to all our concerns and request, but, also, in meeting those concerns and request both in matters of system design and equipment installation. Furthermore, since the generation of electricity from solar power is still a cutting-edge technology, new problems or wrinkles are bound to crop up from time-to-time. Regarding this aspect, the people of Alternative Energy Southeast have always proved themselves to be ready, willing, and able to meet and overcome such problems with the highest of professional expertise and quality technology support.
For these reasons, we give Alternative Energy Southeast the highest recommendation we are capable of giving: if you are seeking to acquire the capability of generating electricity from solar power, and if you are seeking to hire a company which will be a supportive partner with you in achieving and maintaining that capability, then you cannot ask for a better partner than Alternative Energy Southeast”
A Word from AES
